At Mi Familia en Acción, our mission is to activate the political power of Latinos, immigrants, and the working class through civic engagement. We mobilize year-round in dynamic Texas communities.
Given the tumultuous events of the past year, we are seeing that many Latinos feel apprehension or fear about participating in our upcoming elections in November.
We know that our Democracy has been under attack since the election in 2024. The current administration has continuously eroded our democratic institutions at an alarming rate.
The long-term goals of our work is to foster lasting trust and confidence in the electoral process among Latino voters, thereby strengthening the foundations of civic participation with this community.

Info you need for the 2026 Primaries
- What are primary elections?
- During primary elections, voters choose the candidates who will represent their party in the "general election." This is a key moment when voters can make clear their priorities on policies and issues by choosing from among the different candidates who best represent them. In essence, voters who participate in the primaries will lay the groundwork for the November 2026 election.

Essentially, voters participating in the primaries will lay the groundwork for the November 2026 elections. These are elections in which both voters and electors can hold parties and candidates accountable for community priorities and set the agenda for a better future.
TX Priorities
In our Texas, we are:
- Uplifting our youth to ensure that our democracy at all levels of government fairly reflects our interests and communities. As Texas grows younger and more diverse every day, it’s more urgent than ever that we support and develop young civic minded leaders in our community.
- Organizing where environmental injustice disproportionately affects our communities and allies. We all deserve clean air, water, and soil.
- Providing free services and technical assistance to eligible legal permanent residents to apply for citizenship. We build power by tackling barriers that prevent our community from accessing full citizenship.
- Equipping our communities with the civic engagement tools they need to activate their vote in key elections. Our ballot is a bullhorn to amplify our voices and exercise our voting rights freely and fairly.
- Working in coalition with partners across key issues to strategically expand our reach, equitably include the voices and interests of community allies, and activate the strength of diversity that we each bring to the table.
