Zamora initially got involved in the community by serving as the Alief Super Neighborhood Secretary.

Subsequently, he campaigned for a position on the Alief Independent School District Board of Trustees. This experience led him to run for District F Council Member and he has devoted ten years to community organizing in Houston.

Before joining Mi Familia Vota & Mi Familia en Acción, he managed the Harris County Precinct 4 Community Center. Besides his professional pursuits, Jesus enjoys dancing salsa and traveling abroad.
