Dayana Iza



Dayana Iza is one of the Youth Organizers for Mi Familia Vota. Dayana has been an active member of her community for 10+ years. She finds her passion within assisting the under-represented and contributing to the engagement of the Latinx community. She firmly believes that the biggest investment we have is our youth, and thoroughly enjoys working closely with them.

Dayana first joined Mi Familia Vota in 2021 and has since worked in the effort of expanding Mi Familia Vota’s vision to high schools, colleges, and universities. She works closely with her colleagues, allies, and partner organizations to lead the youth program and tie it into all the different campaigns Mi Famia Vota engages in. As the youth organizer she aims to encourage youth to learn, become involved, and become strong leaders to lead in the social issues that matter most to them. Her vision for youth community involvement is deeply woven in with the belief that our youth will be the change we wish to see in the world.

Dayana has taken part in the Climate Reality Houston chapter and took part in a climate change training led by ex Vice President Al Gore. She is also currently an advocate for Young Invincibles Houston in which she advocates to amplify the voices of young adults in the political process and expand economic opportunity for this generation. Dayana has taken part in various fellowships that have helped her enhance her abilities and work.

Aside from her passion for serving her community, Dayana has always had a high interest in the arts. She is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and is currently obtaining her degree in Social Work from the University of Houston-Downtown. Dayana resides in Houston and hopes to continue her work doing what she loves the most, inspired by the great leaders that surround her.

In her spare time, Dayana loves to run and cycle. To date, Dayana has participated in several 5k races and a half marathon. She has involved her love of cycling in completing two MS150 cycling races for the cure to Multiple Sclerosis.
