Estrella was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas where she began her advocacy work with Texas Rising as a part-time campus organizer at UTRGV. She is a first-generation college student who got her Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science. After graduating with a Masters in Public Administration, Estrella continued to work full time as the Regional Program Coordinator in Cameron County for Texas Rising. Her work focused on developing advocacy skills among college student, managing local campaigns around environmental justice and reproductive rights, and increasing voter turnout within the youth demographic
