Kristian Aguilar

Staff

Kristian Aguilar serves as the Director of Development and Special Projects for Mi Familia Vota.  She is a Mexican American Texan native.  She received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Policy Studies from Rice University in 2007.

Upon graduation from Rice University, Kristian served as a Program Facilitator for a pilot program designed to help increase access to college for students in Dallas ISD, particularly first generation and minority students like herself.

Kristian then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from UT Law and pursued a dual degree from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico in Queretaro.

Kristian holds a strong background in public interest work and is very dedicated to serving the Latino community. During law school she interned with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, headed the Texans United for a Stronger Texas Commission and through the UT Human Rights Clinic fought for the rights of indigenous tribes in Costa Rica.  In Mexico she worked for various charities and for a public interest law firm.

Upon her return to the US she served as the coordinator of the North Texas Immigration and Education Table and joined the Mi Familia Vota team in 2019. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband Erick and spends her spare time chasing and playing with their two young boys Evan and Liam.
