Katara Burrola was born and raised in Greeley, CO by her abuelitos who were farmers and migrant workers their whole lives. Through them, Katara learned a deep love for the land and went on to graduate with a Bachelor degree in Environmental Biology and sustainability studies from University of Northern Colorado.

She has applied this through her volunteer work alongside farmers, conservation districts, and youth in and around her home town. As Mi Familia Vota’s Environmental Justice Organizer she is excited to continue building Latino political power so that, together, we can advocate for environmentally safe livelihoods for our gente and the land which supports us.
