Our Vote Is Our Voice. Our Action Is Our Future.
Voz en Acción is a Mi Familia en Acción public education campaign empowering Latino working families with the facts, rights, and civic tools needed to hold leaders accountable and defend our communities.
Colorado families are working hard every day, but rising costs and aggressive enforcement policies are placing unprecedented pressure on household budgets and neighborhood safety. Coloradans deserve clear, accurate information about the policies affecting their lives and the specific role the government plays in making those decisions.
Only by exercising our rights can we protect them. Nuestra comunidad merece mucho mejor.
Issues Impacting Our Community
Everyday essentials are slipping out of reach. From la carne asada and gasoline to housing and healthcare, working families feel the squeeze of inflated prices every single day.
- Rising Grocery Bills: Americans are facing the sharpest increase in grocery prices in 50 years.
- Healthcare Under Attack: More than 10 million Americans face losing health coverage.
Housing: Rent and mortgages are getting higher and higher, and pushing families further and further from where they need to be. Donald Trump has tried to blame immigrants for soaring housing costs, but the reality is that institutional investors and hedge funds have been allowed to buy up properties and mark up prices at our expense. So when Congress finally stepped up and passed a bipartisan bill to limit that, Donald Trump refused to sign it, insisting on pressuring Congress to pass a voter suppression bill instead. - Economic Stability: Affordability isn't just about a single bill—it determines whether working families can meet their basic needs while retaining enough to save, respond to emergencies, or invest in their future.
- Government Accountability: Decisions made at the federal, state, and local levels directly dictate taxes, healthcare programs, housing, energy policy, and working-family support.
Immigration policies have immediate, human consequences across Colorado. Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, small-business owners, parents, students, and vital community members.
- Aggressive federal immigration enforcement is destabilizing neighborhoods without basic oversight or accountability.
- Indiscriminate enforcement leaves families fearing separation, workers hesitant to go to job sites, and parents anxious about taking their children to school or seeking medical care.
Information is Power: Our communities deserve to know what immigration policies actually state, what rights every person holds, and which level of government is responsible for each decision.
- For Latino families, environmental justice is not a slogan, it is a reality that reflects our communities are among the most affected by pollution that causes climate change, and the extreme weather that follows. Para nuestras familias, clean air and water are non-negotiable.
- The current administration gutted the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) protections from pollution that causes climate change, while at the same time rolling back vehicle pollution standards.
- And now, big corporations are building massive data centers that consume vast amounts of water and electricity, leaving our families to deal with water scarcity and higher energy utility costs.
- The fact is, climate denial as official U.S. policy is dangerous to the health and long-term economic interests of Latino communities. Latino families are overrepresented in fields that require working outdoors, and we are among the most affected by asthma and respiratory issues exacerbated by emissions from the oil and gas industry and gas-powered vehicles. The status quo cannot continue.
