Michael Ruiz is an exceptional community leader devoted to empowering and advocating for Latino political power. He was born in Mexico and brought to the United States when he was less than a year old. Michael was raised in Phoenix, AZ, where he developed a deep commitment to empowering his community.

As the Civic Engagement Director at MFV, he works tirelessly to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate in every election. He is proud of his work with us and is committed to continuing his efforts to create a more just and equitable society for all.

Michael's professional journey is as impressive as his community work. In 2017, he earned his bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communications from Arizona State University. He then embarked on a career as a bilingual news reporter for Univision and Telemundo in California. His reporting on critical issues affecting the Latino community, such as immigration and environmental justice, further solidified his commitment to advocacy. It's worth noting that Michael is also an Emmy Award-winning journalist for his outstanding reporting skills and dedication to his work.

In his free time, Michael loves to travel and explore new places around the world. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His unwavering commitment to promoting social change and empowering the Latino community exemplifies Mi Familia Vota's values.
