Jessica Chavarria is an unwavering and enthusiastic advocate devoted to empowering minority communities. As a proud Latina and a first-generation university graduate, Jessica understands the value of hard work and perseverance. Her parents migrated from Chihuahua, Mexico and their sacrifices have been a profound source of inspiration for her to strive for excellence in all areas of her life.
Jessica's passion for journalism and communications led her to obtain a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. She began her career with Univision Arizona, reporting, producing, and anchoring essential news stories for the Hispanic community. Her excellent reporting skills earned her an Emmy Award in the field of journalism. She later joined the Communications team at Phoenix Union High School District, where she worked to promote and highlight the district's progressive initiatives.
As the Communications Manager for Mi Familia Vota, Jessica's tireless efforts are focused on promoting the organization's incredible work and creating a positive impact in the community. Her dedication extends beyond her professional life, as she is a devoted wife and mother who cherishes time spent with her family, exploring nature, and experiencing different cultures. She aspires to instill in her son a sense of dedication to the work she does with Mi Familia Vota and to inspire him to make a positive impact in the world. Her driving force is to ensure everyone's voices are heard.
