PHOENIX, Ariz. – This week the Biden-Harris Administration announced the finalization of a proposed rule that allows Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) participants to buy their own insurance for the first time through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace and vital other health programs.
The following is a statement from Hector Sanchez Barba, CEO and President, Mi Familia en Acción:
“Mi Familia Vota is constantly fighting for the policy priorities of the Latino community, and we are pleased to see the president take action by finalizing a proposed rule to give DACA recipients access to the ACA, and is projected to help more than 100,000 young people gain health insurance.
It is good to see that this administration is taking steps in the right direction on immigration. We will continue to advocate for the full legalization of all undocumented immigrants who do so much for our country.
We look forward to continuing to work with the Biden-Harris administration on this critically important issue and all Latino policy priorities.”
